Type Personal Development
Level Club
Brief Summary Deben Rotaract had a number of new members who wanted to learn about the history of Rotaract and the workings of RGBI. We ran a very informal evening in the style of a game show. Each round was based on a different show and all of the questions were about Rotaract or another Rotary organisation.
Preparation To prepare for this event I wrote questions based on our clubs history and the history of RGBI and RIBI.
Execution The Rounds- Quick Draw
Deben Quick Draw - In this round the teams had to pick the name of a club event for example Santa's sleigh. They were then given 1 minute to draw the clock was stopped when someone on their team shouted out the correct answer. They received a point for every second that was left on the clock out of a minute.
The 60 second game
In this round the teams were given cards with things on like inner wheel, Paul Harris, Banbury Camping Rally. The player nominated by their captain had to explain what this word meant speaking for 60 seconds without hesitation. They could make up an answer we described all of the words after each round.
Outcome This event was a great success with all club members enjoying the evening and having fun. Along with learning about Rotaract and it's history.
