A MARATHON CHALLENGE

At the start of the year, people often set themselves targets to get active, but Colin Bell, a member of the Rotary Club of Bodmin has recently completed a year-long challenge of epic proportions.

ROTARY WELCOMES WINNIE-THE-POOH

Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland is welcoming a familiar, furry friend as an honorary member.

Winnie-the-Pooh, the character created by author A. A. Milne has been given the honour by the Rotary Club of Oxford Spires, who organise the annual World Poohsticks Championships. Poohsticks is a game featured in Milne’s stories, where contestants drop sticks from a bridge and see whose reaches the finish line downstream first.… Read more

YOUNG CHEF AIMEE OFFERED CULINARY SCHOLARSHIP

A Rotary Young Chef participant has been offered a scholarship as a Specialised Chef Apprentice, following her success in the competition.

Aimee O’Connell, from Boroughbridge High School in Yorkshire, was a two-time winner of Knaresborough Rotary Club’s Young Chef, and she also progressed to the latter stages of the competition, taking part in county and regional finals.… Read more
